King Air / Indoor pool dehumidifiers / Ontario
Indoor pool dehumidifiers.Humidity control is a whole-system job.
Indoor pools continuously add moisture to the air. A properly designed and maintained dehumidification system helps manage humidity, comfort, condensation and the conditions that can damage the building around the pool.

Sensors & sequencesWhat an indoor pool dehumidifier does
Remove moisture.
Manage the environment.
Warm pool water evaporates continuously into the surrounding room. A compressor-based pool dehumidifier can draw humid air across a cold coil, condense moisture out of that air and then return conditioned air to the space. Depending on the equipment configuration, recovered heat may also be used to support room-air or pool-water heating.
The dehumidifier is only one part of the solution. Ventilation, air distribution, pool-water temperature, room-air temperature, controls and the building envelope all influence how the room performs.
ASHRAE describes indoor pools as high-dew-point environments and notes that relative humidity commonly falls in the 50–60% range for swimmer comfort and building protection. The appropriate operating target still depends on the facility and its design.
Why humidity control matters
Protect comfort.
And the building around the pool.
Persistent high humidity is not just an equipment issue. It can affect glazing, finishes, ductwork, structural components and mechanical equipment.
Cold surfaces reveal the problem.
Windows and exterior surfaces can fall below the room’s dew point, especially during Ontario winters, allowing visible condensation to form.
Moisture accelerates deterioration.
Persistent moisture can contribute to corrosion on metal components, fasteners, ductwork and equipment in the pool environment.
Temperature and humidity interact.
Swimmer comfort depends on the relationship between room temperature, water temperature, humidity and air movement.
The complete pool environment
The unit does not
work alone.
Good indoor-pool performance depends on several connected systems operating as intended.
Dehumidification
Removes moisture and helps maintain the room’s intended humidity level.
Air distribution
Moves conditioned air to glazing, exterior walls and occupied areas that need it.
Ventilation
Outdoor and exhaust air need to be considered alongside humidity control and indoor air quality.
Heating
Room heat, pool-water heat and heat recovery can all influence evaporation and system load.
Refrigeration
Compressor, refrigerant and coil performance are central to many mechanical dehumidification systems.
Controls
Sensors, setpoints and operating sequences tell the connected systems when and how to respond.
Indoor pool equipment
Different brands.
The same system-level thinking.
King Air supports major indoor-pool dehumidification equipment and evaluates the unit in the context of the room it serves.
Legacy and current systems
Dectron’s Dry-O-Tron name has a long history in indoor-pool dehumidification. King Air services, troubleshoots and plans retrofits for these systems.

PoolPak service ↗When something changes
Start with the symptom.
Then find the cause.
Call for specialist service when you see persistent condensation, high humidity, alarms, unusual noises, recurring shutdowns, water around the equipment, difficulty maintaining temperature or a noticeable change in how the room feels.
These symptoms do not automatically mean the entire dehumidifier needs replacement. The cause may be an isolated component, airflow restriction, controls issue, heating problem, refrigeration fault or a change in the moisture load.
Planning a replacement
Replace the equipment.
Not the old assumptions.
A new dehumidifier should be selected around the pool and building as they operate today.
Pool conditions
Pool size, water temperature, spas, water features and occupancy affect evaporation and system requirements.
Building conditions
Glazing, ventilation, ductwork, mechanical access and the building envelope all shape the project.
Connected systems
Controls, electrical service, boilers, hydronics and pool-water connections may need to be coordinated with the new equipment.
Technical reference
Indoor pools are
high-dew-point spaces.
ASHRAE’s indoor swimming pool guidance emphasizes humidity control, room pressure, ventilation, air distribution, duct design, water chemistry and evaporation rates as connected design concerns. That complete-system perspective is consistent with how King Air approaches service and retrofit planning.
